Sounds Purr-fect to me

Even a recording studio has to have a mascot. The furry voice director also happens to be my pal of 16 years! Her name is Bugsy, named after Bugsy Malone. (Don't ask me why but for some reason I once named my pets after notorious gangsters. My two rabbits were Bonnie & Clyde.)

Here, she's about to get extremely vocal herself as she directs....directs me straight to the cupboard to feed her! She's the most docile creature and clients coming to the studio love her.

You’re Sounding a Little “Hoarse”

I had the opportunity to do some voice-overs for the world-famous Woodbine Race Track, in Toronto, as they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. It seemed only appropriate that the home of the Queen’s Plate requested that I recite my script using a British accent. In fact, they wanted two different Brit accents. The TV commercial voice-over was to have a very subtle hint of merry ol’ England mixed in with my natural Canadian tone. I said: “You mean like Christopher Plummer?” Exactly! I gave it about four takes and then, by Jove, I think I got it.

A Tribute to The King

The legendary King of Rock & Roll would have turned 71 years old today! As an ode to Elvis I present a gal who recently turned 71 DAYS old. My daughter:

Teaghan cryin' for her "Teddy Bear" "A Little Less Conversation"....more body language!

Virtual Hosting

I’ve played many roles in the 'hosting' department. I’ve been a radio host, on-camera host, live event host and, by golly, I’ve hosted a few good parties in my day! One of the latest hosting positions to fill is that of ‘Virtual Host’. With the advent of the internet, a brand new business and advertising medium, I’ve been turning up online as host for everything from real estate development companies to pharmaceutical firms. It gives the term “hosting a website” a completely new meaning.
