Teaghan O’Shea at Two - “Wha’ you say?” - RORY O’SHEA

My little gal is on the verge of her third birthday. It really does go by swiftly. Quite frankly, I don't know what I'm going to do with Teaghan when she turns three next month with the stuff coming out of her mouth now. One thing is certain, she'll glide right into the voice over world. No sweat. But I wish she would stay this age. I even said that to her:
"You're such a big girl, Teagh. Stop growing so fast!"
"But I want to grow!"
"Really? And what do you want to do when you grow up?"
"Play!"

Here are just some of the other gems she's released on her mum and me over the past year –

(Breakfast table)
"Are you finished your oatmeal honey?"
"I’m not finished quite yet."

(Wearing swimming goggles at Disney World hotel sidewalk)
"I'm just hunting for alligators."

(Following dinner)
"I'm really full now. But I can still have my cookie."

(To our nanny, Joy)
"Joy, you’re the best Joy ever!"

(While enjoying a chocolate cone)
"Daddy, you can’t have ice cream. It’s dangerous for you. Maybe when you’re a little bit older."

(Getting out of the pool using the ladder)
"It’s kind of a little bit tricky."

(Cuddling with one hand around her and my other above her head)
"Where’s your other hand?"

(Attempting in vain to get her ready for bed)
"Are you frustrated daddy?"

(Cuddling with her to make her fall asleep - Me clothed, she in pajamas)
"Why don’t you put your pajamas on, daddy?"
"Because I’m just lying here 'til you fall asleep babe."
"That’s very nice."
("sigh")

(Dillon laughing randomly in rear carseat: 45-degree angle facing back window)
"What’s Dilly laughing about Teagh?"
"I think the trees."

(Me singing in a different room, Teagh in bathroom)
“Daddy, you can sing right here while I wash my hands and brush my teeth”

(Me reading paper and Teagh washing hands)
“You can look at that while I’m doing my thing.”

(With hairbrush in her hand, crouching over my bare feet)
“I’m just going to brush your toes.”

(After collecting Auntie Kaye at the airport and dropping her off at the airport)
“Auntie Kaye, do you live at the airport?”

(Sitting at breakfast table with her oatmeal)
“Come daddy, sit down with me.”
“OK noodle, I’m just going to pour a bowl of cereal for myself first.”
“OK, that’s fair.”

(While driving with her)
"Daddy, are we going on the highway?"
"Would you like to go on the highway?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because it makes me stubborn!”

(...to be continued!)
