You’re Gonna Stick That Where?!

I'm thrilled to be back in the voice over game again! I was taken out of commission for a while by something you pretty much need in the VO biz if you'd like to be somewhat successful. It's a little thing called a vocal cord.

My appendectomy back in March also turned out to be something of a vocal cordectomy for all intents and purposes. Whoever coined the phrase "luck of the Irish" was truly a comedian.

Not the Van Halen Song!

It was a return to beautiful Panama City, Panama, for the third time in two years to act as Master of Ceremonies for a 4-day conference on wealth creation and personal growth.

Held at the spectacular Playa Bonita, the event was a huge success showcasing international speakers on wealth creation and personal growth. Returning for the function was world-renowned author, speaker and philanthropist Mark Victor Hansen of 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' fame.

"Hey Mark! What's in that soup? It makes you really happy!"

Nothing to Sneeze at!

I played producer, co-director and on-camera host for Advanced Allergy Elimination back in January. The set was filled with hanging plasma screens giving a cool floating effect following some post production magic. The end result went onto 5,000 DVDs for distribution to clinicians worldwide. The teams at Colon Design Group and Unikron were nothing short of awesome in helping to put this production together.

AAE merges 21st century science and technology with 3,000 year old traditional Chinese medicine to eliminate allergies (in case you didn't get that from the name).

They Pulled the Cord!

It’s been a while since I dropped you a line. I last sent Christmas greetings and said Happy New Year! Well, I hope 2007 has turned out that way so far. While I’m at it, happy belated Easter, Passover, St. Patrick’s Day and you may have been somewhat festive for Groundhog Day!

The reason for the tardy update is because my appendix reached its expiration date and went KAPOW! That landed me in hospital for a couple of weeks. Even more disturbing was the timing. It happened immediately prior to the St. Patty’s Week (I’m Irish remember) celebrations.

NASCAR ya got there!

I voiced some high octane TV commercials and promo bumpers for NBC-6, Miami, for this month’s Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway.Pictured here, drivers line up to begin racing around the track following a caution flag during the 'Ford 400'.

Technically, they’re all just driving on the shoulder.

Duty Calls Again!

I was recently cast as a reporter in a 2-part mini- series, 'H20 II: The Trojan Horse'. The production was written, produced by and stars, Canadian actor Paul Gross. Our American friends would know him for portraying a Canadian Mountie on the hit CBS show ‘Due South’. He’s a great guy to work and still one of the busiest actors due north. In the forthcoming political thriller, Gross plays Tom McLaughlin, Canada's last prime minister, watching from the sidelines as Canadians vote to unite with the United States. Ten provinces are merged into five new U.S.

Cisco Kid

Boy, oh boy. Look at me over the past few months. In front of the TV camera. Behind the movie scenes. Well, Mr. Big Shot also did some corporate on-camera gigs. One of these was for Cisco Unified Communications.I’d like to provide an explanation of the real time technological integration and advanced communications networking details involved but I’m certain my head would explode. Besides, you can find out more on the Cisco Systems site.

The production company filming the promotional video was Chopper Pictures Inc.

Reporting for Duty

The new Fall TV line-up is up and running and nobody is running faster than Donnie Wahlberg. He and Leslie Hope star in the new series Runaway, a drama about a fugitive family. Ah yes, the family that runs from the law together stays together.

The show, shot in Toronto acting as an American location, airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. EDT on the new youth-oriented CW. Pictured here on set, I was cast as a reporter. I shouldn't be this happy. A family's on the loose.

Diction-”eh”-ry

I had the distinction to work as diction coach on a new TV movie adapted from Margaret Atwood's novel The Robber Bride which was filming in Toronto.I was contacted by the production company to “Canadianize” the sound of British actress Amanda Root (Jane Eyre), pictured at right on set, and Ireland’s Susan Lynch (Waking Ned Devine).

Business & Pleasure!

Cool moment: getting dressed in my hotel room, in the Bahamas, preparing to host a conference day for a valued client, when I hear my voice on TV doing promos for another treasured client, Miami’s NBC-6, during the TODAY show!  Even cooler: spending a week on our beautiful east coast with my two gals.
