I was happy to offer pro bono services as narrator for the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital DVD, ‘The X-Files’, which was awarded a silver prize at the 41st annual WorldFest International Film & Video Festival competition several weeks ago in Houston, with over 4,500 entries from 37 countries.
The video promotes the ‘Project X-Ray Campaign’ to purchase new equipment for the hospital’s radiology suites.
‘The X-Files’ was also recognized recently at the international Videographer Awards with an Award of Excellence.
* Congratulations Brian Purdy, Producer/Director MEDIAIMAGE Communications Group for his vision. X-Ray vision? Well, the man is super.

‘Moving up with Literacy’ Scholastic Education program - School distribution: fall ‘08 across Canada.
‘Gotta Catch Santa’ - I voiced the official promo for this forthcoming festive special which features the inimitable William Shatner as Saint Nick. Already? I know, we’re closer to last Christmas than the next one. Captain James T. Claus will add to the fun though!
‘Grossology’ - Recently cast again for a couple of quick characters, such as ‘The Chef’, for this program. (logo pictured)

Hey, it’s got all the voice over elements for marketing. Look! We’re talking cute photo, stylin’ header-logo and an emblem that lends a degree of credibility, being SaVoa. Hell, I’d hire him. Repeatedly. Probably for way more than he’s worth. In fact, I’d like to put him in my will and make him an heir to a long-lost oil ….something……worth a mere fraction of what it will be worth a few years from now.

TV viewers on both sides of the 49th parallel might remember the actor, Paul Gross, as the lead from the hit television show, ‘Due South’ about a Canadian Mountie in the U.S. Paul wrote and stars in the new political thriller ‘H2o: The Trojan Horse’ (trailer here).
Yours truly appears as a reporter in the 2-part mini-series which has a slightly more sinister cross border relationship than the faux mounted cop’s earlier vehicle. When the Prime Minister of Canada is found dead, his son, Tom McLaughlin (Gross), takes over the job bent on finding the true reason of his father’s death. Meanwhile, the United States‘ crucial water supply has nearly dried out. Tom accepts the President’s plan to divert part of the Great Lakes to help Canada’s southerly neighbours. However, certain individuals slowly piece together a conspiracy that threatens Canada’s existence. All I’m saying is the glacier that formed in our backyard this winter will provide enough clean drinking water for us all! The first part of this four hour program airs this Sunday night on CBC television (8:00 pm EDT) |

I’m happy to be back for season “FORE” (sorry, had to) as the voice of Golf Town’s national television campaign in Canada. Also airing coast to coast on the box:

With two children in the house our television viewing is now accompanied by jumping up and down on the couch and spinning on the floor. My wife hates me doing that. The kids, however, get an even bigger kick (or will, I assure them) when it’s dad voicing a cartoon character they’re watching.
My most recent voice over gig on the animation front was for children’s favourite ‘Toot & Puddle’. I was honoured to work on a project created by renowned author and illustrator Holly Hobbie. I got to break out the Irish accent for the role of ‘Wally’, the badger, in an episode of the new series due in the fall of ‘08. Assorted character voices here
Continue ReadingWhile taking a break from the gruelling world of voice recording, I found myself in a bit of a vocal exercise with my daughter, Teaghan, that left me exhausted. I had walked upstairs to the kitchen from the basement studio to find my gal “washing the dishes”. This incidentally is accomplished by running enough water to alter the humidity ratio of the entire household while barely affecting the cleanliness factor of aforementioned dishes.
I asked what she was doing. A silly question that received the equally silly yet adorably obvious answer. I mentioned it was almost time for bed. She then proceeded to lure me into what seemed like an Abbott & Costello skit.
