The 3 ‘R’s’

Friday, March 25th, 2005

Reading Robert Ringer. Just completed some serious power reading and recorded three audio books to be released very soon.

The author himself, Robert Ringer, contacted me from Washington, D.C., several weeks back after coming across the IMedge Communications site. He liked what he heard and asked me to be the narrator for three of his published works.

He shipped the books to me and I blocked off multiple chunks of studio time to read & record them. We’re talking books that averaged 250 pages a piece or a total of 210,000 words. This was going to require a bulk lozenge purchase!

New Donald Trump movie (the sequel - entry)

Monday, March 21st, 2005

It’s early Monday morning. It’s the first day of a 4-week film shoot. The subject is Donald Trump. There’s a man that just hasn’t been getting enough publicity. This movie will help bring him out of the shadows. Perhaps it will help him generate some money. That would be nice.

My call time for the movie is 6:00 a.m. which means I set the alarm for 4:45. Early for most, but I considered this as sleeping in compared to my days of morning radio and television. Silly hours!

New Donald Trump movie

I’ve been auditioning for television and film roles for three decades and I still get the willies when I have to get up in front of total stangers, i.e. casting directors, and show how well I can deliver the lines I just memorized while showing off my incredible thespian qualities.

Usually it’s whether your hairline is what they envision the character to have or if your eyes go well with your suit. I used to take it quite personally when I didn’t get an audition when I thought I did so well. Then I started realizing it might not have anything to do with my performance per se. A lot of the time it’s merely a look.

T’was a grand night for the Irish!

Monday, March 14th, 2005

This past Saturday night I had the privilege to MC the 2005 Grand Marshal’s Ball at the Hilton Hotel in Toronto. NHL superstar, Brendan Shanahan, flew home from Boston to be honoured and participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. I never knew there were so many female hockey fans ;-)

I’d like to introduce your head table. Some of these distinguished guests have had to clone themselves to be several places simultaneously this month. Theirs are the calendars that read January, February, March Madness!

His grandfather the greatest Prime Minister and President of Ireland, forming the first government of Ireland, Eamonn de Valera…we’re thrilled to have with us…
