I misplaced a month somewhere?!

I woke up this morning and discovered it was July! We all know that time flies when you’re having fun…or you’re crazy busy. I’m lucky to have a lot of fun…when I’m really busy. Hence, June was blog-less! Allow me to encapsulate the highlights from 30 days in 30 words or less.

Actually, June started by flying to Ireland. I’ve been to the Emerald Isle many times and love the birthplace of my parents and siblings. This trip was to drive my mother around her beloved countryside for 8 days. We cruised 1200 km of those beautiful rolling hills! Quite an experience on Irish roads! Amazing to hear my gal reminisce about her younger days in Dublin as if it were yesterday. Lots of laughs as well. My mother is like a precious gem: something attractive and dazzling that you love to have near you.

There’s no place like home

Back on home turf I hit the tarmac running as there were deadlines to make, projects to record and clients to please. (Ed. note: I realize we surpassed the ‘30 days in 30 words’ arrangement on Ireland alone!)

IMedge garnered a solid new client from Philly to supply voice overs for websites. From the City of Brotherly Love to The Big Apple, Verizon out of New York City came calling a second time in as many months for more voice over work. Staying in the northeastern U.S., more radio imaging for Joe Edwards and the gang at MAX 92.5 in Maryland, a great client for over a year now.

Whadda ya say we head south and make some real nice connections with an NBC affiliate in Florida. And while we’re down in this neck of the woods how about I voice a radio commercial for the good folks at NASCAR! Go up the road a spell where I’m asked to do the voice over for a Flash presentation for a gentleman in Louisiana. Head west and I look after a voice over client from Arizona.

All right, so I described my workload in a virtual tour context. But, one day I do plan on renting a massive RV and set up my portable remote studio. My wife and I intend to cruise around North America, meet clients, make new friends and have the most incredible adventure along the way.

We love the open road on a motorcycle, in a car…or in this little dreamscape….a WINNE-freakin-BAGO! I find that mode of transportation will probably be the most economical way to capitalize on low gas prices. (Ed. note: the previous dream sequence allows for creative license in the unrealistic speculation department)

I figure this wagon should manage to get us from sea to shining sea…

This entry started with a road trip. Thought I’d end that way…and back on this side of the road ;-)
