Panamanian Pandemonium at the Podium - Part II

Monday, November 28th, 2005

This month presented my second opportunity in 2005 to fly into the beautiful banking mecca of Panama City, Panama, to host another ‘Wealth & Self’ conference for Emerald Passport Inc.Attendees flew in from Hawaii to Scotland and all points in between. Topping the marquee was acclaimed entrepreneur/author/speaker Mark Victor Hansen.

Google his name. You’ll see he’s a busy man who enjoys helping others.

Theatre Transformation

Monday, November 21st, 2005

There’s a production house that’s actually an old movie house that opened in Toronto in 1927. These architectural and cultural time capsules are becoming harder to find. However, the owners of the Regent theatre discovered a clever way to subsidize the costs of their old landmark by letting Theatre ‘D’ Digital utilize the balcony along with the big screen to do their engineering and mixing. The most spectacular screening room outside Hollywood!

This picture was taken from the balcony seats facing the front of the theatre. The movie screen is at least 80 feet behind me! The engineers use it to cut video and film. A production facility by day. A facility that shows productions evenings and weekends.

Adventure Game Released!

Nibiru-2-web.jpg

If you’re looking for a cool Christmas gift (well, it IS next month!) for the teenager or video game fanatic on your list, Dream Catcher Interactive has just released ‘NIBIRU: Age of Secrets’.

I supply the voice over for the principal figure, Martin Holan, as well several other characters in this exciting, new adventure game.

Supplying voice over for video games is essentially the same as cartoon or animation voice acting. This is where the fun stuff comes through because certain characters can be outrageous.

We did everything at the imEdge studio: voice casting, voice recording and final mixing.

Audio Books Released

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005

The three Robert Ringer books I read earlier this year have just been released in audio format. These audiobooks, in their printed version, all reached #1 on the New York Times’ Best Sellers List! The themes focus on self-help and personal growth. Titles: ‘ACTION: Nothing Happens Until Something Moves’, ‘Looking Out For #1’ and ‘To Be or Not To Be Intimidated’.

I recently finished reading, recording and producing an audio book for an exciting new, young author on the scene, Chris Love. His novel, ‘If I Could Do Life Again’, is a touching story reminiscent of the Christmas classic ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’. It was a pleasure to read and fun bringing the characters to life. Look for distribution of Chris Love’s audio book in 2006.

My Best Production Yet!

Monday, November 7th, 2005

Last time it took me this long to submit an entry a dastardly family of raccoons kept terrorizing my back yard and prevented me from sleeping…let alone writing. The most recent excuse for being in absentia presents certain similarities: very cute, very hungry and also keeps me up at night.I’m happy to report I’m a brand new dad. Not sure how the child feels about that!?

I’ve discovered several things since becoming a father and the time leading up to it. Everybody has advice and suggestions. If I had a dollar for every time someone said “it’s gonna change your life” I’d have my child’s education fund locked up. Well, it certainly has changed my life and I was happy for the change with this little source of joy.
