Virtual Hosting

I’ve played many roles in the ‘hosting’ department. I’ve been a radio host, on-camera host, live event host and, by golly, I’ve hosted a few good parties in my day!
One of the latest hosting positions to fill is that of ‘Virtual Host’. With the advent of the internet, a brand new business and advertising medium, I’ve been turning up online as host for everything from real estate development companies to pharmaceutical firms. It gives the term “hosting a website” a completely new meaning.

I enjoy playing the part of spokesperson for various businesses and corporations. The part usually requires a formal approach with the attire being suit & tie. With the layout of a company’s new website and navigational paths in mind I’ll gesture and acknowledge bullet points, graphics and images while reading the script on the teleprompter.

This process is all done in front of a green screen or white background in the imEdge on-camera studio. When we have a few solid takes in the can, the team then gets to work implementing the virtual host, me, into a company’s new website.

A seamless presentation gives the impression I can see all the buttons, links, graphics, images and pictures as I guide the visitor through the site’s pages. This approach can truly personalize a website and make a stronger connection with the visitor while providing navigational assistance.
