Edge Studio
I’ve been a part of the EDGE Studio voice over roster for several years now and have had the opportunity to work for this stellar NYC team in the past, remotely from my Toronto studio.

So it was nice to recently be in the actual studios themselves with the above pic snapped by Jake Ninan, one of the coolest engineers in the biz.  You can check out the cool factor here:  www.edgestudio.com

Teaghan at Two - “Wha’ you say?”

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

My little gal is on the verge of her third birthday.  It really does go by swiftly.  Quite frankly, I don’t know what I’m going to do with Teaghan when she turns three next month with the stuff coming out of her mouth now.  One thing is certain, she’ll glide right into the voice over world.  No sweat.  But I wish she would stay this age.  I even said that to her: “You’re such a big girl, Teagh.  Stop growing so fast!”
“But I want to grow!”
“Really? And what do you want to do when you grow up?”
“Play!”

Here are just some of the other gems she’s released on her mum and me over the past year –

GOOD NEWS STORIES - SUMMER BETTER THAN OTHERS!

Casual Headshot

SaVoa

Hey, it’s got all the voice over elements for marketing.  Look!  We’re talking cute photo, stylin’ header-logo and an emblem that lends a degree of credibility, being SaVoa.  Hell, I’d hire him.  Repeatedly.  Probably for way more than he’s worth.  In fact, I’d like to put him in my will and make him an heir to a long-lost oil ….something……worth a mere fraction of what it will be worth a few years from now.

RORY O’SHEA REPORTING FOR DUTY!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008
Clean Water Heads Due South
H2OTV viewers on both sides of the 49th parallel might remember the actor, Paul Gross, as the lead from the hit television show, ‘Due South’ about a Canadian Mountie in the U.S.  Paul wrote and stars in the new political thriller ‘H2o: The Trojan Horse’ (trailer here).

Yours truly appears as a reporter in the 2-part mini-series which has a slightly more sinister cross border relationship than the faux mounted cop’s earlier vehicle.

When the Prime Minister of Canada is found dead, his son, Tom McLaughlin (Gross), takes over the job bent on finding the true reason of his father’s death. Meanwhile, the United States‘ crucial water supply has nearly dried out. Tom accepts the President’s plan to divert part of the Great Lakes to help Canada’s southerly neighbours. However, certain individuals slowly piece together a conspiracy that threatens Canada’s existence.

All I’m saying is the glacier that formed in our backyard this winter will provide enough clean drinking water for us all!

The first part of this four hour program airs this Sunday night on CBC television (8:00 pm EDT)

Dad’s “Silly Voices”

Friday, February 1st, 2008

tootpuddle-newsletter.jpgWith two children in the house our television viewing is now accompanied by jumping up and down on the couch and spinning on the floor.  My wife hates me doing that.   The kids, however, get an even bigger kick (or will, I assure them) when it’s dad voicing a cartoon character they’re watching.

My most recent voice over gig on the animation front was for children’s favourite ‘Toot & Puddle’.  I was honoured to work on a project created by renowned author and illustrator Holly Hobbie.  I got to break out the Irish accent for the role of ‘Wally’, the badger, in an episode of the new series due in the fall of ‘08.
